Why a note taker that runs in the Netherlands

A meeting often contains exactly the information you would rather not send to a server outside Europe: HR matters, client data, plans that are not public yet. With Murmel the recording is processed and stored in the Netherlands, and you choose whether it is kept or deleted automatically after 1, 7, 30 or 90 days or a year. Recordings are not used to train the model unless you opt in. More on the security and privacy page.

What the note taker does and does not do

  • Does: Google Meet and Microsoft Teams (business and personal), recording of the whole call, speaker recognition, transcript in the Studio and an email when it is ready.
  • Does not: Zoom. You convert a Zoom recording by uploading the file, see transcribe a Zoom recording.
  • Does not: listen in secretly. The note taker has to be admitted and is visible in the participant list.
  • Does not: write summaries or action items. Murmel delivers an accurate transcript; you write the minutes from it, for example with the minutes template.
