Any audio file, one workflow
Mp3 is the most searched format, but in practice audio comes from everywhere: an m4a from your iPhone voice recorder, a wav from recording equipment, a voice memo or the audio track of a video. Murmel accepts all common audio and video formats, so converting beforehand is never needed. Upload, and the text is ready within minutes.
Accurate Dutch, no English side effects
Many mp3-to-text tools are trained mostly on English and stumble over Dutch names, accents and colloquial speech. Murmel runs on a model trained specifically for Dutch and in a public benchmark makes fewer errors than open-source alternatives such as Whisper. The audio-to-text page explains where the quality differences come from.
And your file stays in the Netherlands
Processing happens on servers in the Netherlands, recordings and transcripts are automatically deleted after 7 days, and your audio is not used for AI training unless you explicitly opt in. Good to know when the recording contains more than a shopping list.
