From voice memo to usable text
Quickly recording an idea, a conversation or a lecture: the voice memo is the recorder you always carry. But listening back takes as long as recording. Upload the memo (iPhone Voice Memos, Android recorder or a WhatsApp voice message) to Murmel and you have the text within a minute, ready to copy into your notes.
How it works
- Upload your file. Drop your spraakmemo file into the Studio; conversion is never needed.
- Murmel transcribes. The text is ready within minutes, with speaker labels if you want them.
- Correct and export. Replay the audio next to the text, adjust where needed and export to Word, text or subtitles.
Dutch model, Dutch servers
Murmel runs on a model trained specifically for Dutch speech that makes fewer errors than open-source alternatives such as Whisper in a public benchmark. Processing happens on servers in the Netherlands, your file is automatically deleted after 7 days and is not used for AI training unless you explicitly opt in.

Prepaid credits cost €1 per 50 minutes of audio (excl. VAT), available from €5 and valid for 6 months: a one-off file costs cents, no subscription. Transcribing regularly? Try 14 days for €0.01 first, then from €9 per month (excl. VAT), cancel monthly.

How do I get a voice memo from my phone into Murmel?
Share the memo from your recording app to Files, AirDrop or email, and upload the file in the Murmel Studio in your browser. Every phone format (m4a, ogg, mp3) is read directly.
Does it work for short memos of a few minutes?
Yes, prepaid credits are ideal for exactly that: you pay per minute of audio, so a 5-minute memo costs a few cents.
