Where Good Tape is stronger
- More hours for your money above 12 hours. Good Tape gives 20 hours for €20 a month (€16 billed annually). If you need 15 to 20 hours every month, Good Tape is cheaper than Murmel Creator (€35.09 incl. VAT for 40 hours).
- Languages and summaries. Over 100 languages and AI summaries. Murmel does Dutch and English and does not summarise.
- Recorder app. An iOS and Android app to record with. At Murmel you record in the browser.
- Free first hour and SSO. A free one-hour trial, and SSO sign-in on Business.
Where Murmel is different
Good Tape is made for single recordings, such as an interview a journalist records on the street. Murmel does that too, but also focuses on meetings and on Dutch specifically. The model was trained from scratch on Dutch speech and makes the fewest errors of the seven models tested on four open Dutch benchmarks (the measurement). Good Tape was not part of that test.
- Note taker for Teams and Meet. Paste the link and the note taker records the meeting. Good Tape does not have this yet.
- Vocabulary. Teach the model names of council members, brand names or medical terms with the vocabulary. At Good Tape this is announced.
- In the Netherlands rather than somewhere in the EU. Storage at Scaleway in the Netherlands, processing at Leafcloud in Amsterdam. Business customers get a data processing agreement, through contact.
- API on every plan. Even on Basic you can transcribe through the API and the Python SDK. At Good Tape the API is part of Business.
- Single hours. €1.45 per hour incl. VAT, without a subscription.
