Twice as many minutes, and prepaid credits 5× cheaper
When we first launched Murmel, we had to set a price before we really knew how the costs would shake out. GPU hours, storage, bandwidth, support: in the beginning those are all numbers you can only make educated guesses about. We priced conservatively. Better to overestimate than to find ourselves mid-month with a loss-making customer.
A few months in, we know how it actually runs. There are more people on the platform, the GPUs in Zaandam are operating closer to their optimal load, and we have real numbers instead of estimates. The marginal cost per transcribed minute has come in lower than we budgeted for.
Starting today, you get that back.
What's changing
All paid subscriptions get double the included minutes. Same price, twice the transcription time:
- Basic: 6 hours → 12 hours per month · €9
- Creator: 20 hours → 40 hours per month · €29
- Pro: 50 hours → 100 hours per month · €59
- Scale: 100 hours → 200 hours per month · €99
Prepaid credits drop from €0.10 to €0.02 per minute excl. VAT, five times cheaper. One euro now buys 50 minutes of transcription instead of 10. A tenner gets you nearly 9 hours of audio.
The minimum purchase stays at €5, and prepaid credits stay valid for 6 months.
The free plan stays at 30 minutes
Honest moment: we're keeping the Free plan at 30 minutes per month for now. That's intentional. Free usage is 100% subsidised by paying customers, and we want to give the return to the people who keep the platform running. As we grow further, we'll shift this limit too.
What do you need to do?
Nothing. The new minute allowance is live in your dashboard right now. On Basic? Then today you'll see 720 minutes available this month instead of 360. Same story for every other plan.
